The Linn County Sheriff's Office has deputies assigned full-time to the local U.S. Marshal Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Task Force. The U.S. Marshall Task Force targets and tracks down fugitives that are wanted for serious crimes, In addition, this deputy assists with the tracking of registered sex offenders in the area. The DEA Task Force investigates upper-level drug crimes in the area.
