Eligible Linn County employees are required to participate in the Iowa Public Employee Retirement System (IPERS) defined benefit plan. This plan is designed to supplement Social Security and private savings. Both the employer and the employee contribute to the plan. Contribution rates vary by member classification and may change on July 1 of each year.
New employees should receive a welcome packet in the mail within two months of your first paycheck. If you did not receive a welcome packet or did not keep the letter, call IPERS at 800-622-3849 for assistance.
