What We Do
The Linn County Soil Conservation Department assists landowners, operators and public or private groups doing business in Linn County with resource management planning and conservation practice installation. Soil Conservation assists its partnering agencies, The Linn Soil and Water Conservation District and the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service with providing technical and farm program related assistance to agricultural producers and the general public throughout the county.
In order to meet Linn County Corp Values the following objectives are a focus:
- Reduce soil erosion on private and public lands through resource analysis an formulating implementation options
- Build soil health, reduce nutrient loss, and improve the quality of water resources by assisting with installation of conservation practices
- Increase public awareness and educate all within Linn County about the importance of sound resource management and the methods to do so
