Business and Event Guidance

Due to the current status of the COVID-19 pandemic in Linn County it is vital that public health measures are implemented for the safety of all residents.  To maximize protection from the Delta variant and prevent possibly spreading it to others, get vaccinated as soon as you can and wear a mask indoors in public if you are in an area of substantial or high transmission.  Linn County is in a high transmission area as defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Vigilance remains a priority to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Linn County Public Health recommends following CDC Guidance to control the spread of COVID-19 in our community.

Regardless of the venue or type of event, you should be prepared to do the following:

  • Promote vaccination against COVID-19.
  • Encourage physical distancing.
  • Ensure staff and attendees wear masks correctly and consistently.
  • Attendees and staff should stay home when sick.
  • Conduct routine cleaning to help maintain healthy facilities.
  • Wash your hands often and avoid touching your face.

If you are considering hosting an event during 2021, it is important to make preparations before the event to promote and ensure healthy behaviors, environments, and operations that reduce the spread of COVID-19. Review the CDC Event Planning FAQs for planning an event or gathering.

Guidance for other settings such as Workplaces and Businesses and Activities, Gatherings, and Holidays is also available.

As an event planner or host, you are assuming responsibility for your event or gathering. Any complaints that are received about your event not following social distancing and mask wearing recommendations will be directed back to the event planner or host.
