About Us

Linn County Conservation owns and manages more than 8,800 acres of public resources throughout the county, which represents 1.9% of total acres in the county:

  • Over 30 areas, including parks, trails, natural areas, and preserves
  • 100+ miles of trail
  • 300+ campsites
  • The Wickiup Hill Learning Center, a nature center just northwest of Cedar Rapids.
  • An arboretum at Morgan Creek Park
  • A watercraft rental facility at Pinicon Ridge Park
  • An observatory southeast of Cedar Rapids near Mount Vernon
  • A modern shooting range at Matsell Bridge Natural Area

These public resources allow space for activities such as camping, hiking, biking, geocaching, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, fishing and hunting, and so much more!
