Facility Based Services

Options provides Day Habilitation Services to people with disabilities in its facility and in the community. The facility is located in the Linn County Community Services Building,1240 26th Avenue Court SW Cedar Rapids, IA 52404.

Services

Options serves approximately 150 people within the facility. The building is organized into several areas, with programming and staff to consumer ratios designed to meet the needs of the individual consumers.

Staff to consumer ratios indicate the number of staff and the number of consumers in an area; for example, a 1:4 ratio means that there is approximately one staff member for every four consumers working in that area.

Day Habilitation

Options of Linn County provides Day Habilitation services to adults with disabilities both in the community and in the facility. Operational hours are 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Staff to consumer ratios range from 1:4 to 1:10 depending on the needs of the consumer.

Our Day Habilitation services focus on the person-centered plan of each consumer. Consumers are offered a wide variety of community integration and facility activities from which to choose. Community activities include:

• Bowling
• Movies
• Tours of community organizations
• Visits to the library, YMCA and area parks

Options staff coordinate volunteer opportunities with local schools and colleges, HACAP and Horizons Family Services to deliver Meals on Wheels and to assist with community gardens. Community organizations such as the nature center, animal shelters, fire and police departments come to Options for visits.
