A community-based program designed to empower youth and families by building community ties and support systems.
Program Description
A designated LINK staff person meets with the youth/family within 24 hours following the initial referral. An assessment is completed and depending upon their needs, the child/family may be “linked” with myriad of resources. LINK counselors provide direction and advocacy for youth including individualized interventions with the child’s family as well as assistance in accessing resources within the community.
Additionally, LINK provides mentoring and guidance which aids in the development of a natural support system and family skill development which may touch on areas such as parenting, employment readiness or interpersonal relationships. Staff work closely with service providers and community resource contacts to expedite access and remove barriers to information and services. Services are provided in Johnson County and referrals are made through Juvenile Court.
