Trails (not within parks)

Linn County Conservation maintains many trails within its park system and natural areas, many of which extend beyond county jurisdictions offering additional recreational opportunities while connecting communities.

County trails offer the resources for a variety of outdoor recreation, including:

  • Hiking
  • Biking
  • Cross-country skiing
  • Equestrian activities

  1. Cedar Valley Nature Trail

    One of the pioneer "linear" parks in Iowa. This 52-mile trail offers adequate space for running, biking, walking and more.

  2. Grant Wood Trail

    This 100-acre parcel is a former Milwaukee Road railroad right-of-way from Marion to Martelle, IA.

  3. Morgan Creek Trail

    This trail is currently connects Morgan Creek Park south to the Cherokee Trail within Cedar Rapids. Current engineering and design calls for the trail to continue to the north to Covington along Highway 100, eventually to and crossing the Cedar River eventually connecting to Cedar Rapids to the north.
