Invasive Species Control

Bittersweet at Squaw Creek ParkLinn County Conservation strives to return our Natural Areas to their original, pre-settlement condition. We use several methods to attempt to eliminate or reduce invasive species, including:

  • Mowing
  • Burning
  • Pesticide application
  • Plant removal

These methods vary depending on the time of year.

Removing invasive species allows for the smaller, less hardy, native wildflowers to bloom. This creates more food sources for the pollinators in the area.
