Successful completion of The National Police Officer Selection Test (POST) is required for all Iowa peace officers. The written exam consists of four timed sections, which include mathematics, reading comprehension, grammar, and report writing skills. In preparation for the written exam, Stanard and Associates, Inc. offers a study guide and an online practice exam. Applicants may transfer a previous passing score taken within the last 12 months from another Iowa law enforcement agency.
