Invasive Species Field Day
Wednesday, June 15, 2022
The Linn County Soil Conservation Department invites you to join them and other county, state, and federal agencies to learn more about invasive plant species.
An invasive plant is generally defined as a plant that is not native and has negative effects on our economy, environment, or human health; however, not all plants introduced from other places are harmful. The term “invasive” is reserved for the most aggressive plant species that grow and reproduce rapidly, causing major changes to the areas where they become established.
There is no charge for this event; however, lunch and snacks will be provided, To ensure adequate numbers of meal items will be available, please pre-register for this event by 4 p.m. on Friday, June 10.
Pre-register by calling 319-462-0775 or emailing Curtis Behrens and provide your name, contact information, and number of attendees. Please also include any special meal accommodation requests.
This field day is expected to have several outdoor sessions. Participants are encouraged to wear appropriate attire for field and trail conditions.
This event is hosted by the Jones County Conservation Board and the Hawkeye Cooperative Weed Management Area.
