[ARCHIVED] Linn County Board of Supervisors Awards $140,000 in Economic Development Funding

The Linn County Board of Supervisors last week awarded $140,000 in economic development funding to 11 Linn County organizations.

Twenty-six organizations applied for funding with total requests exceeding $545,000.

The Linn County Economic Development Fund was established to foster and support economic growth and enhance quality of life in Linn County. This is a competitive application process. Applications are accepted on an annual basis. For more information, visit

The following organizations were awarded economic development funding this year:

Alburnett Community Diamond Club
Three new public use restrooms
American Legion Post 679Install ADA restroom and kitchen
City of Marion and Marion Independent School District
10 ft. wide side path connecting school buildings
City of Walker
Convert purchased building into City Hall/Community Center
Entrepreneurial Development Center (EDC)
Sponsor 2018 “Innovation Expo"
Feed Iowa First
Expand fresh food access for low-income families
Hawkeye Area Community Action Program (HACAP)
Supplement weekend food totes for low-income families
Leaders, Builders and Achievers Foundation CRCSD
CR Dreams programming for at-risk high school youth

Overflow Winter Shelter System
