[ARCHIVED] County Home Road construction to begin July 23

A paving project on County Home Road is scheduled to begin Wednesday, July 23, 2014. The project limits are from the Big Creek bridge (just west of Whittier) easterly for 5.4 miles just past Quaker Lane and is anticipated to take 6 weeks for completion.

The project consists of placing concrete over the existing surface, granular shoulders, and storm sewer work.

The contractor, Horsfield Construction, Inc. of Epworth, IA anticipates a completion date of September 12, 2014. The roadway will be closed to all traffic during paving. Local residents who live within the project limits will maintain access for a majority of the project. As a reminder, when the paving operation passes by your entrance you will not have vehicle access for approximately 48 hours. Access will be restored once the concrete reaches maturity. Local traffic will be allowed on the concrete as soon as maturity is reached, typically two days after pavement is placed.
