[ARCHIVED] Sample Ballot Mailer Sent to All Linn County Households

In an effort to reach out to voters, the Linn County Auditor’s Office sent a mailer and sample ballots to all Linn County households. All households should receive this mailer in the next few days.

The mailer includes information on voting as well as absentee ballot request forms. Each sample ballot corresponds to the mailing address, meaning that voters should see the actual candidate names they will see at the polls.

The sample ballot is not a real ballot and cannot be used for voting. The sample ballot cannot be read by a machine. It can be used for voters to do research and prepare for the election.

The Linn County Auditor’s Office has received positive feedback on the outreach. However, out of an abundance of caution, the Auditor’s Office wants all voters to know this is a sample ballot and cannot be used for voting.

To vote in the upcoming election, voters should apply for an absentee ballot or vote at the polls on election day, November 6.
