[ARCHIVED] Election Services mails voter ID cards and General Election notice to all Linn County voters

Linn County Auditor, Joel Miller and the Election Services Department initiated a county-wide mailing to all actively registered voters in Linn County. The mailing went out this week and voters have started to receive them.

The mailer is the size of a postcard and consists of a new Voter ID card and an election notice providing information about the upcoming General Election. The goal of the mailer is two-fold. First, it informs voters of their polling place, the absentee voting option, and key dates and deadlines for the General Election. The second goal is to help clean up the voter rolls by updating the records of those who have moved since the last General Election.

The Voter ID card portion of the mailer should be detached and kept by the voter in their wallet or purse. The election notice portion should be retained for reference during the General Election cycle.
