[ARCHIVED] Roosevelt Street construction to begin September 23

A paving project is scheduled to begin Tuesday, September 23, on Roosevelt Street from E. Otter Road east for approximately two miles to City of Alburnett limits. The project is expected to take 4-5 weeks for completion. The roadway will be closed to all traffic during paving.

The project consists of placing concrete over the existing surface and granular shoulders. The contractor, Horsfield Construction, Inc. of Epworth, IA, anticipates a completion date of October 24, 2014.

Local residents who live within the project limits will maintain access for a majority of the project. As a reminder, when the paving operation passes by your entrance you will not have vehicle access for approximately 48 hours. Access will be restored once the concrete reaches maturity. Local traffic will be allowed on the concrete as soon as maturity is reached, typically two days after pavement is placed.
