Linn County Conservation Logo

Linn County Conservation is continuing response efforts following the severe storm that passed through the county on Monday, August 10. The following areas are closed to the public:

  • Morgan Creek Park and Campground
  • Squaw Creek Park and Campground
  • Wickiup Hill Learning Center
  • Cedar Valley Nature Trail, Grant Wood Trail, Hoover Trail.

Clean-up efforts will continue throughout the week. Campgrounds at Morgan Creek and Squaw Creek Parks will be closed at least through August 18. Impacted areas will reopen once power is restored, debris removed, and the area is determined to be safe for park users. Patrons who have reserved a lodge, shelter, group camp, or a Squaw Creek Park A-Loop campsite during this closure are being contacted for suitable options.

Pinicon Ridge Park near Central City remains open.

The public is advised to keep safety in mind when visiting any Linn County Conservation park, natural area, or trail as tree and property damage is widespread.
