The Linn County Planning and Development Department announces the following updates that are now in effect:
Unified Development Code
The Linn County Board of Supervisors today approved an amendment to the Unified Development Code. The significant change in the amendment includes changes to sizing regulations for detached accessory structures. The size of allowable detached accessory structures will be increasing for most lots, as shown in the table below, and a new size category will be created for lots with 1.00 acre or less. This change is in response to increasing customer demand for larger accessory structures.
Lot Size in Acres | All districts except AG, CNR, and MH |
---|
1.00 or less | 1,200 square feet of floor area |
1.01 to 1.99 | 1,500 square feet of floor area |
2.00 to 4.99 | 2,000 square feet of floor area |
5.00 to 9.99 | 2,800 square feet of floor area |
10.00 or greater | 4,200 square feet of floor area |
