The Linn County Board of Supervisors will hold two public hearings on the fiscal year 2022 proposed budget.

The first public hearing, scheduled for March 3, 2021 at 11 a.m., is for the proposed total maximum property tax dollars (PDF). The second public hearing will be held March 24, 2021 at 11 a.m. for the proposed FY22 budget. Both public hearings will be held at the Linn County Public Service Center, 935 Second St. SW in Cedar Rapids.

At the public hearings, any resident or taxpayer may present objections to, or statements in favor of, the proposed property tax levy and budget.

Limited seating will be available at the public hearings due to COVID-19 physical distancing protocols. Face coverings are required for anyone attending in person. Residents are encouraged to participate by phone. Instructions for joining the public hearing by phone will be posted on the meeting agenda on the Linn County website 24 hours in advance of the meeting. A recording of the meeting will be posted at LinnCounty.org within 24 hours of the meeting’s conclusion.

The Linn County Board of Supervisors works with the County’s Finance and Budget staff, other elected officials, and department heads to develop Linn County’s annual budget over a three-month period with more than 20 public meetings.
