The theme for National Public Health Week 2015 is the goal of making the U.S. the Healthiest Nation in One Generation – by 2030. Nation Public Health Week is taking place April 6-10, 2015. Each day has a different theme:
• Monday, April 6: Raising the Grade. The U.S. trails other countries in life expectancy and other measures of good health.
• Tuesday, April 7: Starting from Zip. Today, your zip code says too much about your health. Unacceptable disparities in health by race, ethnic group, and geography exist in the United States. The focus of this day will be on how to address disparities and achieve health equity across our communities.
• Wednesday, April 8: Building Momentum. Influential leaders, companies, and organizations are taking important steps in line with creating the healthiest nation.
• Thursday, April 9: Building Broader Connections. To become the healthiest nation, public health’s partnerships need to expand to include everyone who has an impact on our health. This day will focus on connections that are needed to make the U.S. the Healthiest Nation in One Generation.
• Friday, April 10: Building on 20 Years of Success. 2015 marks the 20th anniversary of the American Public Health Association coordinating National Public Health Week. The public health community will come together to celebrate the public health accomplishments from the last 20 years and bring a renewed focus to the work ahead.
