The Easter Bunny, McGruff “the Crime Dog”, and Linn County Sheriff Brian Gardner will be visiting pediatric patients this Easter Sunday at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
The Linn County Sheriff’s Office has teamed up with The Easter Bunny Foundation (www.theeasterbunny.com), an Orlando, Florida-based non-profit organization, and other Sheriff’s Offices throughout the nation in hopes of bringing an enjoyable Easter to hospitalized children.
In addition to personal visits from the Easter Bunny and McGruff “the Crime Dog”, the hospitalized children will also receive their own stuffed bunny. “It's our hope that we can bring some additional happiness to boys and girls who might otherwise be experiencing a not-so-pleasant time away from family and friends this Easter holiday,” said Linn County Sheriff Brian Gardner.
The Easter Bunny and McGruff “the Crime Dog” are scheduled to arrive at the pediatric unit at St. Luke’s Hospital on Easter Sunday at 10 a.m. The St. Luke’s Hospital pediatrics unit is located on the 2nd floor of the Helen G. Nassif Center for Women’s and Children’s Health at 150 11th Street NE. The hospital has advised that the news media are welcome to attend this event.
