[ARCHIVED] Linn County Conservation Board seeks public input on park plans

The Linn County Conservation Board is seeking public input on the draft master plans for Linn County’s three flagship county parks: Morgan Creek Park, Pinicon Ridge Park, and Squaw Creek Park. This is an opportunity for the public to help shape the future of these popular county parks. The input is being sought to refine the master plans for each park as Linn County Conservation works with Shive-Hattery and SmithGroupJJR to develop a long range vision for development.

A separate public input session has been scheduled for each of the three parks:

Morgan Creek County Park Plan – Public Input Session

A public input open house for the public to review draft master plan for Morgan Creek County Park on the west side of Cedar Rapids, Iowa has been scheduled for May 5 from 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Morgan Creek Park shop located at 7515 Worcester Road, Palo.

Pinicon Ridge County Park Plan – Public Input Session

A public input open house for the public to review draft master plan for Pinicon Ridge County Park near Central City, Iowa has been scheduled for May 6 from 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Horseshoe Falls Lodge in the park.

Squaw Creek County Park Plan – Public Input Session

A public input open house for the public to review draft master plan for Squaw Creek County Park in Marion, Iowa has been scheduled for May 7 from 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in Red Cedar Lodge, Squaw Creek County Park near the sledding hill in Squaw Creek Park.

Once completed, the park plans will provide a means to determine the best uses for the parks and to optimize management of the parks’ natural and man-made resources. It will serve as a general guide for appropriate park uses and their approximate location within the park.
