[ARCHIVED] Registration Renewals Begin Sept. 1 for Off-Road Vehicles

Off-road utility vehicles are required to be titled and registered in the owner’s county of residence. Registration renewals for off-road vehicles (ATVs, snowmobiles, ORMs, and ORVs) begins September 1. Registrations are valid January 1 through December 31 annually. The deadline to renew registrations for off-road vehicles is December 31.

Registrations can be renewed the following ways:

  • By mail or drop box (Linn County Public Service Center, 935 2nd St. SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404)
  • By calling the Linn County Recorder’s Office at 319-892-5420
  • In person at the Linn County’s Recorder’s Office, 935 2nd St. SW, Cedar Rapids 
  • Online at www.iowadnr.gov

The annual registration fee is $17.75. A duplicate title fee is $11.50. Transfers of off-road vehicles requires a dated bill of sale and a title certificate, both signed by the seller.
