Linn County Public Health Releases Annual Report

Linn County, IA – Linn County Board of Health Chair Leslie Wright, along with fellow board members, released the Linn County Public Health (LCPH) Fiscal Year 2021 Annual Report today. 

 

“Another fiscal year has ended, but the threat of SARS-CoV-2 remains. This report summarizes our ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the aftermath of the 2021 derecho. The annual report also highlights our continued work in building a healthier Linn County through community collaboration and a focus on mental health,” said Dr. Pramod Dwivedi, director of Linn County Public Health.  

 

Some highlights from the Fiscal Year 2021 Annual Report include: 

  • Convened with cross-sector partners to develop a post-derecho needs assessment survey, which was distributed to Linn County residents through a variety of methods.
  • Added 40 contract employees and trained 39 staff to assist with contact tracing during November COVID-19 surge.
  • Worked with partners to allocate the initially limited supply of vaccine to providers within the framework of the state’s vaccine distribution plan based on tier levels.
  • Held that state’s only 24-hour mass vaccination clinic, delivering nearly 2,000 doses of COVID-19 in collaboration with a local pharmacy. 
  • Administered 7,593 total immunizations to 6,074 individuals, including 385 influenza and 4,819 COVID-19 vaccinations. 
  • Completed 962 food-service inspections and 55 routine aquatic safety inspections.  
  • Issued 186 septic permits, conducted 129 septic finals, issued 80 well permits, sampled 183 wells for the Grants to Counties program, conducted 58 public water supply inspections, and reviewed 214 time of transfer inspections for home sales.
  • Partnered with Johnson County to increase solar installation commitments made through Grow Solar 2021, surpassing 557 kW from 64 property owners.
