Cedar Rapids Mayoral Runoff – Start of Absentee Voting

Absentee voting for the Cedar Rapids mayoral runoff election starts Friday, Nov. 12, 2021.

ABSENTEE VOTING OPTIONS 

By Mail

Absentee ballot request forms for this election may be requested at this time. The Linn County Auditor’s Office must receive request forms no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 15, 2021 to qualify to receive an absentee ballot. Request forms are available online (PDF), in the Nov. 10 issue of the PennySaver, or by calling the Linn County Auditor’s Office at 319-892-5300. Mail-in absentee ballots must be received by the Auditor’s office no later than 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021. This is not a postmark deadline. Voters can return their voted absentee ballots in the ballot drop box outside the Jean Oxley Linn County Public Service Center at 935 2nd St. SW, Cedar Rapids until 8 p.m. on Nov. 30.

In-Person

In-person voting for the Cedar Rapids mayoral runoff begins Nov. 15 at the Elections Office located in the Jean Oxley Linn County Public Service Center, 935 2nd St. SW, Cedar Rapids. Voting hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday through Nov. 29. The office will be closed weekends and on Nov. 25 & 26 in observance of Thanksgiving. 

Satellite Voting

Satellite voting will be available to all voters within the City of Cedar Rapids at the following location:

  • Lindale Mall (adjacent to the Children’s Play Area at the east end of the mall) from Nov. 22 through Nov. 29, Monday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Sunday noon to 4 p.m. Satellite voting will be closed Nov. 25 & 26 in observance of Thanksgiving.

ELECTION DAY VOTING

The Cedar Rapids mayoral runoff will use the same polling places as the Nov. 2 City/School Election.

Cedar Rapids residents who still need to register to vote in this election have two options:
