[ARCHIVED] Alburnett Road construction to begin June 5

A paving project on Alburnett Road is scheduled to begin Friday, June 5. The contractor, Concrete Foundations, Inc. of Hampton, IA, anticipates a completion date of July 2, 2015. The roadway will be closed to all traffic during paving.

The projects consist of placing concrete over the existing surface and granular shoulders.

Paving limits will be from Aburnett city limits south for 4 miles to Marion city limits, just north of Echo Hill Road. County Home Road will be open to all traffic during the project. Paving is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 8 near Alburnett city limits and go south to County Home Road. The contractor will then pave from Marion city limits north to County Home Road.

Local residents who live within the project limits will maintain access for a majority of the project. As a reminder, when the concrete paving operation passes by your entrance you will not have vehicle access for approximately 48 hours. Access will be restored once the concrete reaches maturity. Local traffic will be allowed on the concrete as soon as maturity is reached, typically two days after pavement is placed.
