[ARCHIVED] ADA training planned June 26

Peer Action Disability Support (PADS), with collaboration from Linn County Community Services, is sponsoring a training on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, June 26, 2015, at Beems Auditorium in the Cedar Rapids Public Library, 450 5th Avenue SE. Liz Sherwin, Executive Director of the Illinois-Iowa Center for Independent Living will present, “Access in the Real World – Making the ADA Work for You!” This free training, which will provide basic information about Title III of the ADA, includes lunch.

People with disabilities, caregivers, advocates, social service providers, business owners and managers are invited to attend. Space is limited to 80 participants and pre-registration is required. Please contact Cherie Clark at (319) 364-0037 or [email protected] by noon on Friday, June 19 to pre-register. Transportation for people with disabilities residing in the Cedar Rapids metro area will be provided by PADS through Linn County LIFTS.
