[ARCHIVED] Women in Sustainability Series and Feminine Hygiene Drive

A group of women joining hands in a circle

Linn County Office of Sustainability is partnering with the Hiawatha Public Library to host a three-day series of educational events about Women in Sustainability for Women’s History Month. The public is invited to participate in these events.

Leaders in the Environmental Movement
Join this virtual event on Friday, March 18 at 7 p.m. to discuss the work of women in different spheres of the environmental movement. Register for the event.

Creating a Greener Period
During this in-person event, participants will discuss the environmental impact and sustainable solutions to menstruating products. The goal of this session is to hold a space to be open and honest about menstruation and discuss the cost of traditional menstruating products on our wallets, our bodies, and our planet. This session is open to all who are curious about how sustainable and reusable products can help us create a healthier body and planet. This event will be held Saturday, March 19 at 11 a.m. at the Hiawatha Public Library, 150 W Willman St., Hiawatha.

All We Can Save Book Discussion
Join other participants to discuss the book “All We Can Save.” The book is an anthology of women writers talking about their experiences and work within the environmental movement. It is not required to have read the book. This event will be held Sunday, March 20 at 11 a.m. at the Hiawatha Public Library, 150 W Willman St., Hiawatha.

For more information, visit the Hiawatha Public Library’s website.
