In commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, a community celebration is planned for Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Veterans Memorial Stadium. The event begins with a pre-game picnic at 3:30 p.m. featuring Congressman Rod Blum and guest speaker Charlie Becker, Executive Director of Camp Courageous.
A Unity March will take place along the concourse at 5:30 p.m. Proclamations will be read by local leaders on the field, followed by the Kernels baseball game at 6:35 p.m. Local service providers will have displays along the concourse from 5:30 - 7 p.m. A 50/50 raffle to benefit the event will also be held.

A limited number of free Kernels game tickets are available for people with disabilities. Accessible transportation for people with disabilities will also be provided, but is limited to the Cedar Rapids metro area.
