[ARCHIVED] Results of Women’s History Month Sustainable Period Products Drive

Period Product Drive Results by itemDuring Women’s History Month this past March, Green Iowa AmeriCorps members, Dina Haveric (Cedar Rapids Trees Forever), Will Buechner (Matthew 25) and Emma Castiblanco (Linn County Sustainability) held a feminine hygiene period products drive throughout Linn County, specifically calling for reusable and sustainable products. In total, the community donated 2,684 pads, 585 tampons, 5 pairs of period underwear, 8 menstrual cups and 7 reusable pads. Additionally, community members donated more than 600 other hygiene and feminine products, including shaving cream, soap, razors, and more. All donations were dropped off at the Catherine McAuley Center for their Women’s Services.

  • 20 s/m adult diapers 
  • 26 xl adult diapers 
  • 375 Q-tips 
  • 3 small personal bags
  • 5 pairs of regular underwear 
  • 5 pairs of reusable underwear
  • 100 makeup wipes 
  • 3 bras 
  • 1 shaving cream can 
  • 2 deodorant sticks 
  • 7 women razors 
  • 108 flushable wipes 
  • 2 bottles of cleansing wash 
  • 1 box of floss 
  • 1 toothpaste 
  • 8 reusable menstrual cups 
  • 7 reusable pads 
  • 2,684 pads 
  • 585 tampons
