During Women’s History Month this past March, Green Iowa AmeriCorps members, Dina Haveric (Cedar Rapids Trees Forever), Will Buechner (Matthew 25) and Emma Castiblanco (Linn County Sustainability) held a feminine hygiene period products drive throughout Linn County, specifically calling for reusable and sustainable products. In total, the community donated 2,684 pads, 585 tampons, 5 pairs of period underwear, 8 menstrual cups and 7 reusable pads. Additionally, community members donated more than 600 other hygiene and feminine products, including shaving cream, soap, razors, and more. All donations were dropped off at the Catherine McAuley Center for their Women’s Services.
