The Linn County Conservation Department is in the process of completing final design work on the Cedar Valley Nature Trail Improvement Project, which will extend the hard-surface from 3 miles south of Center Point to the north edge of town.
The project includes:
• paving that trail segment from Schultz Road to Apple Creek Bridge using a combination of concrete and asphalt
• drainage improvements
• and seal coating the crossing at intersecting county roads.
Currently used field access locations crossing the trail would be maintained.
The public is invited to attend an Open House to review the proposed preliminary plans from 4:30 p.m to 6 p.m Tuesday, July 7 at the Center Point Restored Train Depot, 700 E Washington St. in Center Point. There will be no formal presentation, but staff will be on hand to answer any questions regarding this project.
