[ARCHIVED] Second Suspect Arrested in Connection with Taboo Night Club Shooting

The Linn County Attorney’s Office, in cooperation with the Cedar Rapids Police Department, filed criminal charges against Dimione Jamal Walker, age 29 of Coralville, Iowa, for his role and as a result of his alleged actions in the mass shooting that occurred on April 10, 2022, at the Taboo night club, 415 3rd St. SE, Cedar Rapids, Linn County, Iowa. Those charges were filed via criminal complaint and a warrant was issued on April 11, 2022.

The Linn County Attorney’s Office filed the following criminal charges against Dimione Jamal Walker: Murder in the First Degree, Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon, Going Armed with Intent, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.  

Mr. Walker was arrested by federal authorities in the Chicago, Illinois, area. Mr. Walker has not appeared in Linn County on the criminal complaint so further information cannot be released at this time. 

Although two arrests have been made, the case still remains under active investigation. The Linn County Attorney’s Office encourages all persons who have information to offer about the events of April 10, 2022, to come forward and to cooperate with the Cedar Rapids Police Department.

The Linn County Sheriff’s Office is coordinating Mr. Walker’s return to Linn County with the US Marshals and the Illinois Department of Corrections, who also have an interest in Mr. Walker. It will be our request that his return to Linn County on these charges be expedited. Mr. Walker will not be released from custody before appearing in Linn County on these charges.

The Linn County Attorney’s Office recognizes the work of the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Northern Iowa Fugitive Task Force to locate Mr. Walker and place him under arrest for this offense.

Our hearts are with the survivors of the deceased victims, and our solidarity is with the survivors. We are committed to justice for the alleged victims and to ensuring a fair trial for the accused. It should be noted that a criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty at trial.
