The population living literally homeless on the street in Linn County has increased 230% from July 2019 to July 2022. That’s a shocking increase. When we look at the why behind the increase, it quickly becomes clear that housing, and access to it, is a complex issue. The Alliance for Equitable Housing, a multi-jurisdictional collaboration formed after the 2020 derecho and led by Linn County, is developing a comprehensive housing solutions plan to identify solutions for the housing issues identified by the community.
