SOME OFFICES CLOSING EARLY March 31

Some Linn County offices are closing early today, March 31, 2023, due to the severe weather predicted for our area this afternoon and evening. Before heading to a Linn County government office this afternoon, please call first to find out if the office is still open. The safety of the public and our staff is paramount. Find a list of Linn County offices and phone numbers on Linn County's website.

The Treasurer's Office is closing at 3 p.m. today, March 31. Residents needing to pay their property taxes by the March 31 deadline may pay their property taxes online at iowataxandtags.org, may use the drop box outside the Jean Oxley Public Service Center, or can mail their property taxes with a postmark of March 31, 2023. The Treasurer’s Office will be on reduced staff this afternoon and will not be able to process customers who arrive after 3 p.m. today, March 31, 2023. Vehicle registrations can be renewed online at any time at iowataxandtags.org.  

The Sheriff’s Office remains open as scheduled and will continue to provide 24/7 operations including routine and emergency responses. This includes the Patrol Division, Communications Division, and the Correctional Center. In an emergency, always dial 911.
