[ARCHIVED] Accessibility Reasonable Accommodations Request Form

We have developed a Reasonable Accommodations Request form and administrative procedure that can be used by residents needing to install accessibility improvements that may not meet zoning requirements. A good faith effort shall be made to install the accommodation fully compliant with the zoning regulations; however, it may be permitted to encroach into any required yard setback, provided that it is not enclosed or covered, and provided it does not encroach into a public right-of-way. A temporary accommodation can be allowed for up to 180 days. The Building Official may extend this time frame to allow the accommodation to remain beyond the 180 days upon demonstration of reasonable need. Following this time period or any approved extension, it must be removed or replaced with a permanent accommodation.
