The Linn County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance. On November 19, 2015, several residences were burglarized in the rural Fairfax/Walford area in Linn County. These burglaries occurred during the daytime hours.
The suspects in these burglaries usually stop at a residence and either ring the doorbell or knock at the door. If no one answers the door, they force entry into the house and steal electronics, jewelry and cash. If someone answers the door, they may make up a story that they are looking for a lost pet, or are lost and need directions, and/or a similar story.
If anyone suspicious stopped or stops at your residence that you do not know, please try to get a vehicle description and license plate information or a description of the person, and contact the Linn County Sheriff’s Office at 319-398-3911.
