Linn County Election Services wishes to inform all potential Primary Elections candidates that informational packets for candidates are now available. A candidate packet can be picked up at the Election Services Department of the Auditor’s Office or downloaded from the Linn County website at http://www.linncounty.org/359/Candidate-Resources.
Democrats and Republicans seeking their party’s nomination in the June 7, 2016 Primary Elections are encouraged to thoroughly review the candidate packet. A wealth of information is provided in the packet to help individuals successfully become an official candidate and to get their campaign off on the right foot. Along with other important information, the packet contains a candidate guide, sample forms and tips for successfully filing nomination papers.
Nomination papers for state and federal offices are filed with the Secretary of State’s Office (SOS) in Des Moines.
Nomination papers for Linn County offices are filed in the Election Services Department.
