Absentee ballots are now available for College Community School District’s Special Election to be held on Feb. 2, 2016. Due to a vacancy on the school board that will be filled by this election, ballots could not be produced until the candidate filing period ended on Jan. 8.
The College Community School District and the Springville Community School District each have requested special elections for Feb. 2, 2016. College Community is seeking approval to issue $49.5 million in general obligation bonds and will elect a school board member due to a position that is currently filled by appointment. Springville Community is seeking approval to issue $4.7 million in general obligation bonds. Absentee ballots for Springville Community School District have been available since January 4.
Below are the three ways for voters of both school districts to participate in this election.

Request forms may be obtained from www.LinnCountyElections.org or by calling Election Services at 319-892-5300, ext. 1
Request forms can be mailed to 935 2nd St SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404-2100
All requests must be received by Friday, Jan. 29 at 5:00 PM.
Ballots returned by mail must be postmarked by Monday, Feb. 1, 2016.
• Vote Absentee In-Person
Office hours for absentee voting are Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Election Services is located at the Linn County Public Service Center, 935 2nd St SW, Cedar Rapids.
In-person voting at satellite locations will be announced at a later date.
