Monday, March 7 marks the beginning of the candidate filing period for those running for county offices across the state of Iowa. Seats on the Board of Supervisors will be on the Primary Election ballot along with the offices of County Auditor and County Sheriff. Particular to Linn County, Board of Supervisor Districts 2, 3 & 4 are up for election in 2016.
In Linn County, candidates for county offices must file nomination papers with the Election Services Department of the Auditor’s Office.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Filing Period: Monday, March 7 to Wednesday, March 30
All potential candidates are encouraged to file soon after the filing period begins and not wait until the last day. Nomination papers may be mailed or another person may deliver the papers on behalf of a potential candidate.

A candidate packet can be picked up at Election Services or downloaded from the Linn County website at http://www.linncounty.org/359/Candidate-Resources. The candidate packet is intended to help individuals successfully file nomination papers and to get their campaign off to a good start.
