[ARCHIVED] Let's go Camping!

Camping in Linn County

Linn County Conservation campgrounds are now open for the 2016 recreation season. Whether you have been anxious to reconnect with nature this Spring, get away from the hustle and bustle, or spend some quality time with friends and family, Linn County Conservation has several options available for you to enjoy your next camping experience.
The 320 Linn County Conservation campsites range from primitive (non-electric) to the full hook-up sites. All family and equestrian campground sites are first come-first served, with the exception of Squaw Creek Park A-Loop which can be reserved in advance. Group Camps are also reserved. Firewood is available to purchase for in-park use at Morgan Creek, Pinicon Ridge, and Squaw Creek parks for $5 a bundle.

Morgan Creek Park, 7515 Worcester Rd, Palo
Morgan Creek Park offers 36 camping sites with electric service and water hook-up. A modern restroom/shower facility is available. A pack-in Group Camp located in the day-use area of the park can be reserved.

Pinicon Ridge Park, 4729 Horseshoe Falls Rd, Central City
Located along the Wapsipinicon River, Pinicon Ridge Park offers 160 family campsites at four electric and two non-electric campgrounds. Seven Group Camps allow larger groups to camp all together. If you don’t have a tent or camper, four log cabins are available for overnight camping by reservation. New to the Flying Squirrel Campgrounds is a state-of-the art-playground.

Squaw Creek Park, 4305 Squaw Lane, Marion
69 campsites are available at Squaw Creek Park with a modern restroom/shower facility. The 24 Squaw Creek A-Loop sites are the only family campground sites from Linn County Conservation that allow advance reservations. The new playground installed late last year next to the camping areas was voted “Playground of the Year”, by Playworld Systems.
