Amy Johnson will be sworn in as the District 2 Linn County Supervisor on Monday, May 2 at 8:45 a.m. in the formal board room of the Linn County Public Service Center, 935 2nd St. SW in Cedar Rapids.
Johnson was appointed to the Linn County Board of Supervisors last week by a special committee of county officers to fill the vacancy created when Supervisor Linda Langston stepped down to take a new position with the National Association of Counties in Washington, D.C. earlier this month. Johnson was one of 11 applicants interviewed for the position.
Johnson will serve as District 2 Supervisor until a new District 2 Supervisor is elected in November 2016. Johnson is not running for election in November.
“I am honored and excited to have this unique opportunity to serve my county. I look forward to a very productive and positive six months with the other members of this board,” said Johnson.
