Has this happened to you? You’re enjoying a nice, leisurely bicycle ride and the wheel is loose on the axle…or maybe your brakes need tightening...or your tire needs air...
Linn County Conservation has installed the first of three bicycle repair stations along the Cedar Valley Nature Trail to allow you to make repairs quickly.
These bike stands by Bike Fixtation ® will allow bike riders to mount their bicycle and make a quick repair with provided tools. These tools, including various sizes of wrenches and screwdrivers, are securely attached by retractable cables. An air pump is also available to get you back on the trail in no time.
Linn County Conservation staff installed the first repair station at the Cedar Valley Nature Trail head at Boyson Road in Hiawatha at the end of April. More bicycle repair stations are planned for the County Home Road parking area and the Center Point Railroad Depot.
These three bicycle repair stations are made possible by donations from Blue Grass Enterprises in Alburnett, ITC Midwest, and Linn County Trails Association (Bob Westercamp memorial).
