The Linn County Board of Supervisors has awarded $25,827 from the Linn County Historic Preservation Grant Program to nine non-profit organizations in Linn County. The recipients were selected through an annual competitive process.
“We are proud to support the work of these organizations that are preserving Linn County’s history for future generations,” said Ben Rogers, Chairperson of the Linn County Board of Supervisors.
The Linn County Historic Preservation Commission reviews the grant applications and makes funding recommendations to the Board of Supervisors.
The following organizations will receive grant funding from the FY17 budget that begins July 1:
African American Museum of Iowa - Collections Storage Solutions $3,660
Alburnett Community Historical Society - Rewire for Installation of Additional Lighting, Backup Lighting & Exit Signs for Tool Room in Rockwood Building $1,500

Cornell College - Seth Thomas Tower Clock Preservation $5,000
Genealogical Society of Linn County - Digital Ledger Preservation $888
