[ARCHIVED] Office hours changing for Linn County Treasurer’s Office

Beginning July 5, 2016, the Linn County Treasurer’s Office will have new office hours. The office will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Phones will be answered between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. On the second Thursday of every month, the office will be open and phones answered from 10:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. so staff can participate in monthly training and development.

“We track our customer service data and found that one of our busiest times is right away in the morning. We often have people waiting in line when we open at 7:30, so we know the demand for early morning hours is there. By opening a half-hour earlier, we can better serve our customers,” said Linn County Treasurer Sharon Gonzalez. “Our customers will also benefit from our monthly training, which will focus on things like product improvement, legislative updates, and monthly enhancements for our motor vehicle and property tax systems.”

Data also indicated that foot traffic into the Treasurer’s Office is not as busy in the late afternoon, which is why the last ticket for service will be issued at 4:30 p.m.

The new office hours and dedicated monthly training in the Treasurer’s Office are examples of how Linn County is listening to the voice of its customers and implementing a customer-centered culture to improve customer satisfaction.

Some services provided by the Treasurer’s Office can be conducted online at www.iowataxandtags.gov, including renewing license plate tags and paying property taxes.
