[ARCHIVED] Linn County Auditor Mailing Voter ID Cards and General Election Information to Registered Voters

Registered voters of Linn County will soon receive a new voter ID card in the mail along with important information about the upcoming General Election. The Auditor’s Office initiated this practice before the 2014 Gubernatorial General Election and decided to continue this effort for the 2016 Presidential General Election. Cards should begin arriving in mail boxes as early as Thursday, July 14.

The goal for the mailing is three-fold:

1. Provide a new voter ID card to registered voters, reminding them of their polling place, precinct, election districts and party affiliation.

2. Update the voter registration records of voters who may have moved since the last time they voted.

3. Provide registered voters with key dates and information about the Presidential Election.

New this year is information on how to opt-in to a text message service to be alerted about election information in Linn County.

Along with a traditional voter ID card, the mailer will contain information as shown in the link below.
