The Cedar Valley Nature Trail will be closed to the public from Schultz Road north to Iowa Street in Center Point starting Monday, August 8th for construction of the Cedar Valley Nature Trail Phase 4 Paving Project. The contractor, Vieth Construction, will be preparing the site to replace the crushed limestone surface with asphalt pavement. Re-opening of this section is scheduled for mid-November as weather and ground conditions permit. A concrete surface will be applied on the trail from Iowa Street through Center Point to the Grubbs Creek Bridge near Ash Lane later this fall if time allows, or in the early spring. Linn County Conservation appreciates the public’s patience during this 3.5-mile trail improvement effort.
