[ARCHIVED] Linn County to host minimum wage forum Aug. 18

The public is invited to attend a minimum wage forum hosted by Linn County Supervisor Ben Rogers on Thursday, Aug. 18, from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. in Beems Auditorium at the Cedar Rapids Public Library, 450 Fifth Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids.

The purpose of the forum is to discuss the minimum wage issue in Linn County and gather public input before the Board of Supervisors votes on whether to increase the minimum wage in Linn County.

The forum will be moderated by KCRG’s Bruce Aune and will air live on KCRG Channel 9.2.

Panelists include Linn County Supervisor Ben Rogers; Peter Fisher, Research Director at the Iowa Policy Project; Sofia Mehaffey, member of the Linn County minimum wage study group; and Richard Pankey, local business owner.

Audience members will be able to submit written questions during the event.

Registration to attend is not required.
