[ARCHIVED] Linn County issues FY16 annual report

FY16 Popular Annual Financial Report cover

Linn County’s fiscal year 2016 Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) is now available. The report provides citizens with an overview of how their tax dollars are managed and spent and is part of Linn County’s ongoing commitment to keep citizens informed about the County’s finances and to be accountable for the receipt and expenditure of public funds.

In addition to providing easy to understand financial information, the report also highlights some of Linn County’s accomplishments and major initiatives of the past year and demonstrates the vital role county government plays as a resource to residents and businesses.

Printed copies of the report were distributed in the Jan. 16 edition of The Gazette. Copies will also be distributed in the Linn News-Letter on Jan. 17, the Marion Times on Jan. 19 and the Mount Vernon-Lisbon Sun on Jan. 19. Printed copies are also available at the Linn County Public Service Center, 935 Second St. SW, Cedar Rapids.

Linn County has earned the award for “Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting” from the Government Finance Officers Association for 18 consecutive years. To receive this award, Linn County’s report has to meet high standards in creativity, understandability, distribution and reader appeal.
