[ARCHIVED] Linn County Board of Health Celebrates the 50th Anniversary of Linn County Public Health and NPHW

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA – The Linn County Board of Health and Linn County Public Health will be hosting a community reception in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Linn County Public Health and National Public Health Week 2017 on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at the IBEW Hall – Local 405 from 1:00 to 4:30 pm. The keynote speaker is Patrick Lenihan, Clinical Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health, and former president of the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO). Following the keynote will be a panel discussion on the emerging public health issue of opioid abuse. Additionally, community partner awards will be presented to several local residents for their role in supporting the mission of public health.
