In response to public feedback and in an effort to better serve the voters of Linn County, Linn County Election Services has established the following polling location changes for future countywide elections including the August 1, 2017 special county election. Note that the first set of precincts remain at the same location; their services will be combined. The second list of precincts involve a change in physical location for Cedar Rapids 22 and Clinton Township.

Background
Linn County has had 86 precincts since the 2010 census and redistricting of 2011. Since that time, Election Services has noted precincts with habitually low turn-out or polling locations which are inconvenient or otherwise not ideal. In the interest of more effective election services, six precincts will merge to share a location with a different precinct. Each will still be distinct precincts as to their ballots, but they will share election services at one location. These changes will remain in effect until such time as a change, such as the 2020 census, causes redistricting.
As with all elections, absentee voting will continue to be available before Election Day. Voters may vote absentee in-person at the Auditor’s Office or vote by mail from the convenience of their home.
